Warranty

Moose Gate is a product of Culler Digital Media. This page explains the hardware warranty that comes with your Moose Gate service, what it covers, what it does not, and how exchanges and returns work.

One Warranty

Moose Gate has one plan and one warranty: a lifetime hardware warranty for as long as your lodge is subscribed. If a covered unit fails, we exchange it, up to two warranty exchanges per year per lodge. If a lodge needs more than that, we’ll work with you to look at the environment (heat, steam, or dust) so the problem doesn’t keep coming back.

What's Covered

The warranty covers hardware failures: storm and power-surge damage, components that wear out or die, and internal faults. It covers the Moose Gate hardware that ships with your system:

  • The Gate Controller.
  • Each Door Unit.
  • Each Expansion Controller.
  • The door strike shipped with each Door Unit.
  • The BarTab.
  • The Chime.

What's Not Covered

The warranty does not cover abuse, such as dropped units, liquid damage, shattered screens, or a Door Unit that has been struck or punched. It also does not cover these site-specific items, which are not included unless quoted separately:

  • Maglocks and other electric lock hardware beyond the strike shipped with each Door Unit.
  • Transformers.
  • Door wiring.
  • Installation and labor.

Replacement Units

Replacement units may contain Moose Gate refurbished components. Every replacement is tested and fully functional before it ships, and the failed unit is returned to us.

We also refresh hardware as new equipment is released, roughly every three to five years, with free replacement units when equipment is upgraded. New units ship first; the old units are returned within about 30 days (units not returned are billed), then tested, given new batteries, upgraded, and put back into service.

Quoted Installation Hardware

Self-install with the provided diagram is encouraged. When Moose Gate quotes and installs door-release hardware as a separate package, that hardware carries a one-year parts warranty and 90-day labor coverage unless your written quote states otherwise. 120V electrical work and any work outside the quoted scope are excluded.
